staying-beautiful.jpgFact is, age plays a significant role when it comes to beauty. The natural aging process involves certain changes in our physique that results to some not so beautiful effects. We’ve heard it all before : wrinkles, age spots, and sagging skin.

This is exactly why it’s important to know the right kind of skin care you need to use in reference to your age. Not all products are good for all skin types. And as you mature, there would be things you need to do that you might not have done before.

Don’t have a clue on what to do? Take a look at this article entitled, Beauty by numbers and get pointers on what you should do to take care of your skin whether you’re in your 20’s, 30’s, 30’s or even 50’s.

Oily Skin

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

When choosing the right kind of moisturizer for your skin you should consider many things before just going and buying any product off the shelves. Remember skin is one of the sensitive parts of our body.

First off, know your skin type. Most of the common problem that every woman has is “oily skin”. Oily skin is best-described as shiny with a dull color to it. It could be because of the hormones, diet or the weather. Women of old age prefer natural treatments. Natural oils such as olive oil are actually good for oily skin types, they help break down the body’s oil and replace it with good oil.

Choosing the right make up also helps prevent oily skin. Don’t go for the brands. Choose the right one for you. Avoid changing products just because you’ve seen it on ads.

It’s not enough to be beautiful on the outside. Healthy skin, hair and fingernails also need a little help from the inside. We looked at the labels of two nutritional supplements: Nail, Hair & Skin Connection from Rainbow Light, and Skin, Hair & Nails from Natrol to compare their contents. Both have vitamins A, B6, B12, and C, thiamine, riboflavin, biotin, zinc, copper, and methyl sulfonyl methane (MSM). Natrol has Vitamin E, cysteine for elasticity, and glutathione to fight against free radicals, while Rainbow Light is stronger on its B vitamins and mineral-rich botanicals. Both recommend two caps a day. If you’re already taking in supplements, don’t expect a major change.

A Beauty Product that works…… Really!

Monday, June 15th, 2009

In a first with the cosmetics industry and independent study has found that the product, Boot’s No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum, is really what it claims to be. We call it a first for seldom does the cosmetics industry allow such testing and real-world evaluation of it’s products that are more or less tested within their own laboratories. Dermatologists from the University of Manchester have found that the said product in question, does indeed work as claimed, proof of the much hyped advertising, it works, for real. Not all cosmetics undergo such public a testing due to secretive and cut-throat research into the many beauty products that are worth billions every year.

Foot Fetish

beauty3.jpgThey say, some guys are very particular with a girl’s feet. So after wearing those high-heeled stilettos, I am sure your feet is already asking for a rescue. If you are just home and in need of foot treatments, here are the tips that you could do:

1) Put a warm water in a bin with some rock salt. This will help in softening the soles of your feet.

2) Exfoliate your feet. Mix a small amount of baby oil and sugar, and use this as a scrub.

3) Wash your feet with warm water. Don’t use any soap.

4) Soak your feet in milk for 10 to 30 minutes. With the use of a bath stone or loofah, scrub your feet for better results.

5) Wash and dry your feet. Then rub your favorite lotion or foot lotion or even petroleum jelly.

6) At night, don’t forget to put some lotion again and wear some socks.

You’ll definitely see the difference after doing this for a month or two.

Self-tanning moisturizers

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Self-tanners can suck moisture off skin, leaving it parched and dry. To remedy this, many skincare brands have developed self-tanning moisturizers, among them Jergens, Neutrogena, L’Oreal, Dove and Coppertone. Most complaints come from the unpleasant self-tanner smell and the stains some products leave on clothes. As an alternative, you can also combine self-tanner and lotion or moisturizer in your hand before applying. This produces just a hint of color that looks natural and won’t streak the way tanning lotions do. Whatever you use, unless they’re Neutrogena and Jergens with SPF 20, don’t forget to use sunblock as moisturizer or self-tanner alone won’t protect you from harmful UV rays.

Avoid Facial Exercises

Monday, April 28th, 2008

As we age, our skin is more brittle and susceptible to wrinkles. Performing facial exercises enhances the development of wrinkles on our face. As we age, the skin does not regress to its old form and the lines caused by exercising tend to remain.

Also when in front of the mirror, avoid doing facial expressions for this has the same effect as facial exercises. Said activities only pull your face and accelerate skin aging. Remember that the face is the only part of our body in which the skin is directly attached to the muscles; therefore any activity of our facial muscles directly affects the skin on our face.
